At 15, Sviatoslav was living in Lysychansk under the care of his aunt when she took him across the border to Russia. Without his consent, she enrolled him in a Russian school and applied for Russian citizenship in his name. Even though he was physically safe, he felt trapped — torn from his country, his identity, and his older brother, a Ukrainian soldier wounded on the front lines. That same brother, despite losing his legs in combat, led the effort to bring Sviatoslav home. With the help of Bring Kids Back UA and Ukrainian diplomats, the two brothers were reunited in Kyiv, where they now live together and begin a new chapter side by side.
