The International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children has issued a joint statement for World Children’s Day, reaffirming that every child has an inalienable right to live in safety, with family, and on their native land.

The Coalition expresses full support for Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to locate every abducted child and bring them home. The statement underscores the urgent need to grant international organizations access to the places where Ukrainian children are being held, to strengthen global mechanisms for tracing and identification, and to ensure accountability for all those responsible for these crimes. It also highlights the importance of rehabilitation and psychosocial support for children and families after their return.

Ahead of World Children’s Day, the Coalition states clearly: “no child is a trophy of war.” The return of Ukrainian children must be immediate and unconditional.
